From the end of 2018 to now, the national working conference has clearly proposed to accelerate the construction of new infrastructure including 5G, data center and information network. The new infrastructure includes seven major areas: 5G base station construction, UHV, intercity high-speed railway and urban rail transit, new energy vehicle charging pile, big data center, artificial intelligence and industrial Internet.

Ma Chao further said that 5G set sail to provide a "new engine" for digital transformation. In the next five years, a 5G network infrastructure covering both urban and rural areas will be built. It is estimated that there will be nearly 1.2 billion 5g users in the world in 2024, and the number of 5G users in China will exceed 700 million, and the penetration rate will reach about 45%. 5g has fully enabled all fields of industry, transportation, energy, medical care and economic society, and promoted a new round of changes in production and lifestyle.

In September, the national development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of science and technology, the Ministry of industry and information technology and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the guiding opinions on expanding investment in strategic emerging industries, cultivating and strengthening new growth points and growth poles. According to the guiding opinions, investment in 5g construction should be increased, the pace of 5G commercial development should be accelerated, government agencies, enterprises and public institutions at all levels should be given priority to base station construction, and the 5G base station should be studied and promoted to be included in the construction standards of commercial buildings and residential buildings. We will accelerate the tackling of key technologies such as basic materials, key chips, high-end components, new display devices, and key software, vigorously promote the construction of key projects and major projects, and actively expand reasonable and effective investment.

With the intensive construction of 5G base stations, the PCB, antenna, components and pan RF fields will usher in significant opportunities for change. The demand for base station core components such as antenna, antenna oscillator and filter will usher in an explosive period.

Among them, 5G base station has high-frequency, high-speed, high-data requirements for PCB board. Prismark predicts that the global PCB market is expected to reach $76 billion by 2022, with a CAGR of 5% in 2019-2022. With the continuous progress of 5g construction, the value of single base station will fall down in 2020. However, with the increase of construction quantity, the market scale of 5g base station PCB will increase from 2.4 billion yuan in 2019 to about 12 billion yuan in 2021.

As an important part of RF module, the performance of base station antenna directly determines the communication quality. With the application of massive MIMO, the software and hardware architecture of 5G base station has changed significantly. The 5G antenna will add new PCB board to replace the former phase shifter and feed network. At the same time, due to the increase in the number of channels, the number of filters and connectors will also increase significantly.

RF device is also an important part of communication base station, including filter, duplexer, combiner, power divider and so on. The filter is responsible for transmitting and receiving signal filtering, which is the key part of the RF terminal. In the 3G / 4G era, the base station filter is mainly composed of metal coaxial cavity. In 5G era, ceramic dielectric filter with high Q value, low loss and low temperature drift will become the mainstream.

At present, the international situation is complex, and it needs the whole industry to make efforts to realize the independent control of electronic components. The state has vigorously supported and introduced a number of policies, and the local government has actively promoted the implementation and provided financial support when necessary, which has created a good market environment. However, the rising trend of semiconductor investment needs to be vigilant and follow the development law of semiconductor industry.
