Carbon film resistors are fundamental passive components designed to limit or regulate electric current flow in electronic circuits. Constructed by depositing a thin, pure carbon film onto a high-purity ceramic substrate, these resistors offer a cost-effective solution for general-purpose applications. Ceramic Core: Serves as an insulating, thermally stable base.
Carbon Film: A thin layer of pure carbon acts as the resistive material. The desired resistance value is achieved by precision cutting a helical groove (spiral) into the film, which increases the conductive path length.
Protective Coating: Multiple layers of epoxy resin coating are applied and baked individually. This coating provides robust protection against moisture, mechanical stress, and solvents.
